Careful hand removal of roof foam, quoted from the survey.
Written quote after the survey. · Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat by arrangement
If the survey says the foam should come off, our team takes it away by hand, scraping and cutting it from slates, tiles, battens and rafters before vacuuming up the debris. Dust sheets are laid first, respirators are worn all the time and every bag of waste goes with us. The written quote reflects roof size and foam type, and follows the survey.
Before any foam is touched, the loft floor and access route are covered with heavy dust sheets, and the hatch and landing are protected. Work lights go up so the whole roof space can be seen clearly. Operatives put on coveralls, gloves and respirators, and the household is asked to stay out of the loft and off the landing while the work goes on.
Foam is cut and scraped from the underside of the slates or tiles, the battens and the rafters using hand tools, with the residue vacuumed as the work proceeds. Hand work is slower than machines but kinder to old timber and roof coverings. Bagged waste is carried out and taken away, so nothing is left behind in your loft, on the landing or on your drive.
Once the foam has gone, the exposed timbers are checked again and photographed, and fresh moisture readings are taken where we could not reach them before. If clearing the foam has revealed damage that needs repair, we tell you what we see and what we would suggest. You then receive the final photographs and a short note of the finished condition for your records, which a buyer or lender may later ask to see.
